Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović meets with Hungary’s Minister Bóka

During his visit to Budapest, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović held a meeting with Minister for European Union Affairs of Hungary János Bóka.

During the meeting, Minister Bóka expressed Hungary’s continued support for Montenegro’s European integration, particularly during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2024. He emphasized that Hungary will continue to provide strong support for Montenegro on its path to EU membership, encouraging the closure of negotiation chapters and speeding up the integration process.

Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović thanked Hungary for its ongoing assistance and reaffirmed Montenegro’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations on the European path. He highlighted that EU membership is a strategic goal for Montenegro, and Hungary’s continuous support is crucial to achieving this goal.

The two officials also discussed current global challenges, including security and migration issues, as well as opportunities to strengthen regional cooperation.

They agreed to maintain close communication to accelerate Montenegro’s EU accession process.
