Developed and European Montenegro is a stabilizing factor in the Western Balkans

In a meeting with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Ambassador Giles Norman emphasized that a developed, European Montenegro is a key stabilizing factor in the Western Balkans and a reliable anchor for NATO in the region. He further conveyed Canada's support for the ambitious plans of the 44th Government, with a central focus on the development and improved quality of life for citizens.

Prime Minister Spajić briefed Ambassador Norman on crucial reform processes aimed at creating conditions for the accelerated further development of Montenegro.

We cannot afford to wait. Montenegro is entering a period of building critical infrastructure projects and sustainable economic growth, firmly grounded in the European and Euro-Atlantic values we share with our partners, he stated.

Internationally recognized as a stabilizing factor, Montenegro fully aligns with the external and security policies of the European Union, coupled with continuous support for Ukraine, emphasized Ambassador Norman. Building on the foundations of political stability and a clear perspective, there is room for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, with a particular interest from Canadian companies in investing in Montenegro.

In this context, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić presented the developmental plan for the upcoming period and expressed the Government's openness to all credible investors capable of bringing expertise, especially in the fields of transportation, infrastructure, and energy.

Both parties acknowledged that a better-connected and developed Montenegro aligns with the interests of both the European Union and NATO. They emphasized the importance of enhancing administrative capacities and cooperation with partner countries to achieve common goals.
