DPM Ivanović meets with Manuel Sarrazin
Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met today with Special Envoy of the Federal Government of Germany for the Countries of the Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin.
During the meeting, discussions focused on key issues of mutual interest, with a particular emphasis on the current political developments in Montenegro, the dynamics of European integration, and bilateral relations between the two countries.
The officials addressed the ongoing parliamentary deadlock, with Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović reaffirming the Montenegrin Government’s full commitment to resolving this issue as soon as possible through dialogue and an inclusive approach. It was highlighted that institutional stability and the effective functioning of the legislative branch are crucial for implementing further reforms, adopting the national budget, and ensuring continued progress in the EU accession process.
Sarrazin expressed satisfaction with Montenegro’s achievements on its path toward EU membership, emphasizing the country’s reform progress. He underscored the importance of constructive political dialogue and a stable institutional framework for advancing reforms in line with European standards and reaffirmed Germany’s continued support for Montenegro.
This marks Sarrazin’s seventh visit to Montenegro, reflecting the strong bilateral relations and shared commitment to the country’s European path.
