DPM Koprivica meets with North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arben Fetai
Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice, and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica met in Skopje with Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia Arben Fetai, where they agreed that strengthening the fight against corruption and other abuses remains a top priority for both countries.
The two officials emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation in preventing cross-border corruption and implementing the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations. In this regard, joint activities must be undertaken to ensure the full and effective implementation of this agreement, which will significantly facilitate the detection of corruption and hidden assets at the regional level. Both sides shared the stance that corruptly acquired assets must not be untouchable.
Deputy Prime Minister Fetai expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to exchange experiences with his Montenegrin counterpart, stating that Montenegro serves as a strong example in its EU accession negotiations.
During his visit to Skopje, Deputy Prime Minister Koprivica also met with President of the Judicial Council Aleksandar Kambovski, as well as the Secretary General and members of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption. In these meetings, the importance of combating corruption as a global risk was underscored. The discussions also highlighted the need for continuous cooperation in preventing and detecting cross-border corruption, as well as the importance of interoperability as a crucial tool in the fight against corruption and other negative social phenomena.
