Efendić hosted Abazović and thanked him for the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica
Acting President of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina Semir Efendić hosted today Dritan Abazović, President of the Civil Movement URA and Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro who is paying a several-day visit to BiH.
Dritan and I have known each other since our student days. We stayed in touch even after graduation. Dritan's desire to change the governing structure in his country, which has been in power for 30 years, seemed unrealistic for a party led by someone from a minority group, but the whole region had the opportunity to see that it succeeded. On this occasion, I would like to thank him for the Resolution adopted by the Parliament of Montenegro regarding the genocide in Srebrenica, said Efendić.
Abazović had previously announced his arrival in Srebrenica on 11 July on the occasion the 26th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. At today's meeting, he pointed out that he was looking forward to every kind of cooperation between the two countries.
I think that the citizens of BiH and Montenegro share many similarities, but also the challenges facing the two countries are almost identical. In order for a greater transformation to take place, we must commit ourselves to a different vision, we must forget the policies that have not brought us anything good and understand that the future belongs to those people who are ready for change, and who will promote something progressive, modern and compatible with the modern world, Abazović said.
He added that one big and positive novelty on the BiH political scene is the arrival of Semir Efendić in the Party for BiH.
My colleague Semir was and is one of the most successful mayors in BiH. One of the political demands of URA is to dedicate itself to the overall economic progress of municipalities and the state, and very often we in Montenegro say that he and his work are a positive example of high-quality management that we can apply in our country, said Abazović.
Efendić emphasised that Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina have no open issues, which is why the chance for cooperation between the two countries is even greater.
