Expert meeting on inspection coordination
An expert meeting on the coordination of inspection bodies, organized by the Institute Alternative in cooperation with the Coordination body for harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight, was held on Friday, 20 December 2024, at the Government of Montenegro premises.
The meeting aimed to support the establishment of effective coordination among inspection authorities. Attendees included Milun Zogović, President of the Coordination body for harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight, all members and the secretary of the Coordination body, an expert in the field of inspection oversight, and representatives from the Institute Alternative.
During the meeting, comparative practices in the establishment of the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight in the Republic of Serbia were presented. The session served as a platform for exchanging views and proposing specific measures for effective coordination among inspection bodies. Discussions focused on future steps and the role of the Coordination body in developing mechanisms such as aligning oversight plans, planning joint inspections, risk assessment, drafting checklists, and forming operational working groups. The conclusions and recommendations from the meeting will be published subsequently by the Institute Alternative.
The meeting was organised within the framework of the project Inspect to Protect: Turning Inspectorates Into Anti-Corruption Allies supported by the Embassy of the United States in Montenegro, the State Department’s Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
