Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović visited the Municipality of Tivat, where he held a working meeting with the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, and his associates. The establishment of anchorages in the Tivat aquatorium, possibilities for introducing order and enhanced control mechanisms in this area, the establishment of a marina for municipal moorings in Seljanovo, and the uninterrupted operation of the regular maritime transport of vessels with electric propulsion – were just some of the topics discussed.

During the meeting, Minister Radulović emphasized the importance of the maritime sector and investment in maritime infrastructure.

We must work together on key infrastructure projects and the improvement of the maritime sector, which will contribute to the further economic development of the municipality and the entire country, said Radulović.

The Mayor informed the Minister and his associates that the amendments and additions to the Program for Temporary Structures in the Maritime Domain are currently being drafted, which will more precisely define the treatment of anchorages near the island of Sveti Marko in the Tivat aquatorium. The Municipality of Tivat has allocated funds for their establishment, and in the coming period, necessary activities will be undertaken to make them operational.

Our goal is to establish order in the aquatorium and achieve benefits considering that thousands of vessels stay in the bay during certain parts of the year. The formation of anchorages should be accompanied by the establishment of adequate services, such as the service for emptying black tanks, which is of multiple significance, not only economic but also ecological, emphasized Komnenović during the meeting and expressed the Municipality’s readiness to contribute to this pioneering effort.

The Deputy Mayor of Tivat, Jovan Brinić, and the Municipality’s manager, Ivona Petrović, discussed with the ministry representatives the specific legal and technical steps that need to be taken for the establishment of anchorages to be implemented in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules. In addition to Minister Radulović, the meeting with the Municipality of Tivat leaders was attended by State Secretary Pavle Tripković, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs Andrija Ražnatović, and the advisor to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, long-distance captain Vladan Radonjić.

In communication with all relevant authorities and public enterprises, the Tivat local government will continue its activities to realize this service.
