Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj met today with the founder of Glovo, Mr. Sacha Michaud.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Gjeloshaj informed Mr. Michaud about the activities, plans, and long-term goals of the Ministry of Economic Development, highlighting that one of the Ministry's key focuses is supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, which are fundamental to the country's economic development.

Considering that Glovo is currently one of the world’s leading delivery platforms and apps, we believe that through cooperation and exchange of experiences, we can enhance the visibility of local businesses, strengthen competitiveness, empower young entrepreneurs, stimulate employment, and create additional mutually beneficial opportunities, said Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj.

Gjeloshaj also emphasised the importance of partnerships and collaboration for achieving economic progress. The support of this company in developing startup entrepreneurship and the local economy would be of great importance for Montenegro, by offering its expertise, experience, and knowledge in the field of digital economy. This would enable Montenegro to more rapidly achieve its development plans, concluded Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Gjeloshaj.

Mr. Michaud expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted Glovo's readiness to invest in other municipalities to ensure that the entire territory of Montenegro is covered by their service network.

The two parties concluded that the first step in establishing cooperation will be the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Glovo, with the aim of developing digital business and improving the entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.
