Government and 4iG Group to Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

In a significant move to bolster Montenegro's technological progress, Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and President of 4iG Group Gellért Jászai will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Villa Gorica tomorrow (10 a.m.).

The primary objective of this collaboration between the Government of Montenegro and 4iG Group is to enhance cooperation in various areas, with a focus on the development of a cutting-edge 5G network, infrastructure expansion, and the introduction of innovative solutions. Emphasising a simultaneous commitment to digitalization and a technology-driven economy, both parties aim to facilitate sustainable economic growth.

In 2021, 4iG Group made a strategic entry into the Western Balkans telecommunications market through the acquisition of Telenor Montenegro, subsequently rebranded as ONE Montenegro. As a mobile operator, ONE Montenegro has rapidly established itself as a key player and a driving force behind technological advancements within the market.

Playing a pivotal role in the expansion of the 5G network and spearheading smart city projects, 4iG Group has been at the forefront of achieving sustainable living and optimizing information and communication infrastructure in Montenegro.

Furthermore, 4iG Group boasts extensive expertise in digitizing public services and undertaking e-government projects, enabling greater efficiency within the public administration.

The signing of the MoU marks a milestone in the cooperation between Montenegro and 4iG Group, signaling the determination to propel the nation's technological landscape to new heights.

Journalists, photojournalists, and video operators can access Villa Gorica using their annual press accreditation cards issued by the Government of Montenegro for the year 2023, in combination with a personal identification document.

Media representatives without the Government of Montenegro's annual press accreditation cards are required to send the names of attending journalists, photojournalists, and camera operators to the email address pr.vlada.gov.me@gmail.com. Media personnel should be present at Villa Gorica no later than 9:45 a.m.

The Public Relations Service of the Government of Montenegro will provide photographs and video footage to the media.
