Government delegation pays a working visit to Berane
Deputy Prime Minister for Demography and Youth and Minister of Sports and Youth Dragoslav Šćekić led the Government delegation in a working visit to the municipality of Berane. The delegation also included Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Naida Nišić, along with their associates. During the meeting with President of the Municipality of Berane Vuko Todorović and his associates, discussions were held regarding priorities including the valorization of the north of Montenegro, improvement of transportation infrastructure, and support for the development of education and sports.
Deputy Prime Minister Dragoslav Šćekić expressed satisfaction with the official visit to Berane, emphasising the importance of investing in the north as a governmental priority. He announced the Government's readiness to fully reconstruct the old sports hall under Jasikovac, adapting it for Paralympic sports and serving both Paralympic athletes and citizens of Berane. This project is deemed crucial for the development of sports, tourism, and the economy in Berane and the region.
President of the Municipality of Berane Vuko Todorović expressed gratitude for the visit, highlighting the importance of collaboration in solving local issues and improving conditions for youth and residents of Berane. He emphasised the significance of governmental support in creating better opportunities for employment and life in the city, particularly through infrastructure projects like the newly constructed road connecting Berane to central Montenegro.
Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Naida Nišić emphasised the importance of improving the economic situation in Berane, focusing on combating unemployment and supporting vulnerable groups.
Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović announced investments in educational infrastructure, including the reconstruction of several schools and the construction of a new kindergarten in Berane.
