Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Sports and Youth Dragoslav Šćekić signed agreements with 44 sports organisations, allocating funds to co-finance sports programmes in 2024.

This year, we are earmarking a record amount to support sports federations, stated the Deputy Prime Minister. He clarified that an unprecedented 6.5 million euros have been allocated for financing umbrella sports organisations and national sports federations. This represents an increase of over 40% compared to the funds designated in the previous year.

Šćekić expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Finance for its understanding and commitment in allocating funds for sports and youth. This is the best indicator of the 44th Government's dedication to this crucial matter, emphasised Šćekić.

Addressing those present, Dusan Simonović, the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK), conveyed thanks on behalf of the gathered sports organisations for the record-breaking support from the Ministry of Sports and Youth. He highlighted that this backing would significantly contribute to the operations of sports federations and the overall development of sports in Montenegro.
