Government representatives meet with Tara Resources representatives regarding the planned multimillion investment in Brskovo mine in Mojkovac
Representatives of five ministries and representatives of the company Tara Resources held a meeting today regarding the planned multimillion investment in the Brskovo mine in Mojkovac.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, Minister of Capital Investments Mladen Bojanić, Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Milojko Spajić, Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Stijović and Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism Ratko Mitrović, as well as State Secretaries Marko Perunović, Aleksandar Ašanin and Danilo Mrdak.
Executive Director of Tara Resources Chris Janes, General Manager of the Brskovo Mine Richard Boffey, Environmental Protection Manager of Tara Resources Petar Marković and Consultant Milan Niković attended the meeting on behalf of Tara Resources.
The meeting discussed benefits of the project as well as the possible negative impacts with a special focus on environmental protection and the cultural and historical asset of the site affected by the project.
Various solutions were analyzed and it was agreed that Tara Resources would further consider all suggestions that their representatives received from government representatives, and inform the line ministries involved in this project in order to find the best solution both for the local community and Montenegro and for the strategic investor.
