Ibrahimović speaks at meeting on rising sea levels, focus on climate change
On the third day of his participation in the General Debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović addressed a high-level event dedicated to addressing the existential threats posed by rising sea levels.
In his speech, Ibrahimović highlighted the consequences of climate change, noting that rising sea levels are one of the most alarming aspects, bringing with it additional threats and consequences. These are challenges that affect the lives of all people, the environment, and societal stability. It is our shared responsibility to ensure a sustainable future for the generations to come, particularly for those directly impacted by climate change, he added.
While in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Minister Ibrahimović also met with Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation.
They exchanged views on opportunities for further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including economic, trade, and energy collaboration. They particularly emphasised the potential of renewable energy and technological development.
