Issuance of Travel Document

A travel document is issued to a Montenegrin citizen who has lost their travel documents in another country, for the purpose of returning to Montenegro. The travel document is issued for the duration required for the return to Montenegro, and lasts no longer than 60 days.

The application for the issuance of a travel document must be submitted in person at the diplomatic-consular representative office of Montenegro abroad.

• If the travel document has been stolen or lost, the individual is obliged to report it to the competent police authority and provide proof when submitting the application at the diplomatic-consular office.
• After establishing the identity and citizenship status, the individual fills out a form and provides two photographs sized 3.5 x 4.5 cm, after which the relevant office issues the travel document.
