Ivanović meets with Odobescu in Bucharest: Support for the integration process and strengthening bilateral cooperation

The meeting today between Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović and Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu in Bucharest took place in a notably warm and friendly atmosphere.

The discussions underscored the strong ties between the two countries, with Romania once again reaffirming its unequivocal support for Montenegro’s European Union membership aspirations. In this context, Romania announced its commitment to provide expert assistance to accelerate reforms in key sectors.

A significant focus was placed on the agreement to sign four key bilateral accords, covering agriculture, internal affairs with a particular emphasis on emergency response, cultural cooperation, and university partnerships between the two nations. Additionally, both sides considered the possibility of finalizing an agreement in the energy sector in the near future, which would further solidify economic collaboration.

During the meeting, the officials also addressed current regional issues, with special attention to the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East, highlighting the importance of stability and a united approach to global challenges.

This meeting represents yet another step toward strengthening Montenegro-Romania relations, reaffirming a shared commitment to regional stability and prosperity.
