Ivica Kostelić: I am grateful to Montenegro
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić visited renowned Croatian skier Ivica Kostelić this morning at the General Hospital in Bar, after he was rescued near the mouth of the Bojana River last night thanks to the swift intervention of the Montenegrin Navy.
The four-time Olympic medalist and World Cup champion expressed his deep gratitude to the Armed Forces of Montenegro for their prompt response, as well as to the medical staff, emphasizing that he emerged unharmed from an extremely delicate and life-threatening situation.
Kostelić had spent the past few days in the Prokletije mountains, promoting the natural beauty of this region of Montenegro—an effort for which Prime Minister Spajić also expressed his appreciation.
We greatly appreciate your time and dedication to visiting and promoting Prokletije and Montenegro. We are extremely pleased that the rescue operation ended in the best possible way. You are always welcome in Montenegro, said Spajić.
I leave Montenegro with only fond memories, thanks to the brave rescue operation from the turbulent waters near Ada Bojana, Kostelić stated.
Both Spajić and Kostelić praised the Montenegrin rescue services, whose swift and professional response reaffirmed their high level of expertise and efficiency in emergency operations.
