MFA of Romania: Montenegro has a friend and supporter in Romania

"I am firmly confident that Montenegro will remain the frontrunner of the integration process in the Western Balkans and that you will use the current moment to accelerate the integration agenda. You have a friend and supporter in Romania", said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Luminița-Teodora Odobescu, at a meeting with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

Prime Minister Spajić thanked Minister Odobeska for her words of support.

We especially appreciate all the messages of support that come to us from Brussels and Member States. Dedicated to development and focused on the future, Montenegro remains loyal to its pro-Euro-Atlantic agenda, emphasized the Prime Minister.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on current security challenges and in that context highlighted the important fact that Montenegro is fully aligned with the common foreign and security policy of the European Union.

The Growth Plan of the European Union and the importance of absorbing funds for the further development of Montenegro were also discussed at the meeting.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Luminița-Teodora Odobescu, conveyed to the Prime Minister the congratulations of the Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, on the occasion of the election of the 44th Government, and sent an official invitation to Prime Minister Spajić to visit Bucharest in the upcoming period. "We look forward to being your hosts. Montenegro is welcome. In this challenging moment for all of us - the most important thing is to hold on tight to our European family", concluded Odobescu.
