Management, goals and development plans of new national airline ToMontenegro presented
The management, goals and development plans of the new national airline ToMontenegro were presented at today's press conference held at the Press Centre of the Government of Montenegro. Predrag Todorović, the company's Executive Director, and Pavle Tripković, a member of the Board of Directors, spoke at the conference.
"The goal is for ToMontenegro to be a self-sustaining, efficient company whose business will be based on corporate and market principles. This company must have a long-term sustainable business model, because that is the only way to operate successfully," said Executive Director of ToMontenegro Predrag Todorović.
After the purchase of two aircraft, which was realised last week, ToMontenegro is now negotiating the purchase of another one, also from the Montenegro Airlines fleet, which lays a solid foundation for Montenegrin aviation for the next few years.
"Our internal agreement is that the members of the Board of Directors will not receive any compensation for their work, and now we are checking whether the valid legal regulations allow it. If the law obliges the payment of compensation, it has been agreed that we will forward it to those who need it, that is, for humanitarian purposes," said member of the Board of Directors Pavle Tripković.
Employment will, in accordance with the values and principles on which the company will be based, be done only on the basis of competencies and knowledge. The management agrees that local resources must be used to the fullest extent and in the best possible way, in order to lay a sound foundation for company's further development.
Todorović emphasised that Montenegro, due to its specific geographical position, is predominantly an air destination, which is why it is necessary to have its own high-quality national airline. "The Government of Montenegro has invested money; the Government believes that we have the will, professional knowledge and experience to create a model that will be self-sustainable in the long run. This is an investment in the future. We have invested our careers in a challenging project of building a success story that will be the pride of Montenegro in the years to come, but will also connect our citizens with the world," he said.
The management of the new national airline consists of experts who have covered the most responsible positions in the companies in which they worked during their careers. The Executive Director and some members of the Board of Directors are another example of our people who have left their international jobs and returned to Montenegro to contribute to its development.
A clear message was sent at the press conference that ToMontenegro will be a company whose business will be based exclusively on market principles, but also that it represents the future of Montenegro.
