Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Jovana Marović met today with Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Joost Reintjes. It is an imperative that this Government implements decisive reforms in the fight against corruption and organised crime, and the first effects in this field represent a step towards better and more measurable results in the field of rule of law, said DPM Marović.

Marović said the new Government represents a chance for political stability, and that dialogue and close cooperation between all three branches of government are the only way to unblock and speed up accession talks.

She informed the Dutch Ambassador about the upcoming obligations and plans of the new Government and the relevant Ministry, especially in the context of the reorganisation of the negotiating structure and the completion of the negotiation process.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Montenegro appreciates the support of the Netherlands so far on the path of European integration, adding that she expects further dynamisation of cooperation, especially in the context of obtaining the closing benchmarks in Chapters 23 and 24.

The new Government brings optimism to the citizens of Montenegro in terms of fulfilling the obligations from the European agenda and it will have our support in the continuation of the EU accession process, said Ambassador Reintjes.

The Ambassador said that the opening of the embassies of Montenegro and the Netherlands is a key step in improving cooperation between the transatlantic allies.
