Marović, Popa: Government is determined to speed up accession negotiations

The Government is determined to speed up EU accession negotiations and we will intensify the implementation of all obligations arising from negotiation process, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Jovana Marović.

Marović met today with Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Oana Cristina Popa.

DPM Marović said that the focus of the Government's work in the coming period will be the completion of reforms in the field of rule of law, economic governance and public administration.

She stressed the Government's readiness to improve and intensify the political dialogue with the aim of creating a stimulating environment for reaching an agreement on unblocking judicial institutions.

Furthermore, she informed Ambassador Popa about the plans for the reorganisation of the negotiating structure with the aim of simplifying procedures and work systems, and improving efficiency.

Ambassador Popa said that Montenegro should use the present moment and accelerate the implementation of reforms, as well as its path towards membership.

We are ready to work together with you and help you accelerate reforms, so that Montenegro meets the conditions for EU membership as soon as possible, said Ambassador Popa.
