The Government of Montenegro recognizes sports as a priority and has reaffirmed this commitment through record support for sports federations, investments in infrastructure improvements, and assistance in organizing major international competitions. By doing so, the Government acknowledges the importance of competing at the highest level, enabling the growth and development of our talented athletes to achieve top results in the future.

In this context, sporting interests must take precedence over political factors, including the organization of the Water Polo World Cup final tournament. Given the circumstances surrounding the naming of the swimming pool in Kotor, hosting the final tournament in this city could result in the absence of some of the best national teams, thereby diminishing the sporting value of the event.

Competing against the best teams is crucial for our young and developing water polo team, especially at the start of a new Olympic cycle. Therefore, we believe that hosting the final tournament in Podgorica would fully align with Montenegro’s sporting interests. We invite all fans of the "Sharks" to fill the indoor pool at Morača Sports Centre this April and support our national team.

At the same time, we are confident that the Kotor pool will soon have the opportunity to host the world’s best water polo players. We believe that the current issue will be resolved through dialogue, satisfying both Montenegro and Croatia, and bringing joy to sports professionals and water polo enthusiasts alike.
