Montenegro and UNOPS strengthen partnership for digital governance and cybersecurity
Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj and Director of UNOPS Multy-Country Office Michela Telatin signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum signifies a commitment to strengthen collaboration between Montenegro and UNOPS in various areas, including building a robust digital infrastructure, improving governance, e-government services, and enhancing cybersecurity.
Minister Dukaj expressed his dedication to creating an efficient public administration tailored to citizens' needs and democratic development in Montenegro. He highlighted the alignment of Montenegro's goals with UNOPS's Strategic Plan 2022-2025, which focuses on enhancing the capacities of developing countries and advancing resources to achieve sustainable development objectives.
Dukaj emphasised that this memorandum formalises and intensifies existing joint activities and establishes a comprehensive partnership to enhance digital services, e-governance, and cybersecurity. UNOPS's experience in improving citizen services through electronic services and working with national and local institutions will be invaluable in enhancing the quality of electronic services at all levels.
Director Telatin emphasised the comprehensive partnership between UNOPS and Montenegro in the areas of governance improvement, including cybersecurity, e-government, and e-services within both central and local administration. UNOPS, with its mandate in infrastructure, procurement, and project management, brings solid experience in collaborating with national and local authorities, contributing to the further development of public administration and better services for citizens.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Public Administration and UNOPS aims to facilitate the strong development of digital infrastructure and effective governance at all levels.
