New congratulatory messages to the Prime Minister: Officials of the European Union Member States welcome the formation of the 44th Government

On the occasion of the election of the 44th Government, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić received numerous congratulatory messages, including those from officials of the European Union Member States.

"The establishment of your Government represents a new stage in the history of Montenegro since its independence in 2006," said the Prime Minister of the Republic of France, Élisabeth Borne.

I welcome the pro-European character of your reform program and I would like to witness a decisive acceleration of negotiations for membership in the European Union during your mandate. In that regard, you can count on the friendship and support of France, said Borne.

The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, also sent a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of Montenegro on the occasion of his election to office.

I am looking forward to the continuation of cooperation between our two countries, especially regarding the process of Montenegro’s accession to the European Union.

The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, also sent a congratulatory message, saying in a message to the Prime Minister, among other things, "It gives me pleasure to personally extend to you the sincerest congratulations on your recent election as Prime Minister of Montenegro."

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson also sent a congratulatory message.

I take this opportunity to assure you of the clear and continuous support of the Government of Sweden when it comes to the integration of Montenegro into the European Union and your reform agenda. These unprecedented difficult times require more cooperation and coordination. I wish you every success in your new role and look forward to a close dialogue and cooperation with you and your Government, Kristersson said.

In a message to Prime Minister Spajić, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, emphasized that he looks forward to the continuation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Montenegro, in the context of the NATO alliance and the implementation of reforms that will enable Montenegro to make progress on its European path. "I wish you wisdom and success in the vital tasks ahead of you. I look forward to meeting you personally", said Rute.

Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in his congratulatory message that he is looking forward to further deepening the cooperation between the two countries at multiple levels.

I appreciate the demonstrated commitment to accelerated efforts regarding the European path of Montenegro. Greece, as a staunch supporter of the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU, stands in solidarity with that choice and is ready to actively facilitate the efforts of Montenegro in terms of reforms, Mitsotakis wrote.

Better cooperation with Montenegro "within our European family" with best wishes for success in the work of the 44th Government was emphasized by Nikos Christodoulides, President of Cyprus.

Prime Minister Spajić was sent a congratulatory message by the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico.

Slovakia and Montenegro are traditionally linked by friendly relations. I believe that we will continue to deepen them, not only at the bilateral level, but also at the level of international organizations and that we will strengthen our alliance within the North Atlantic Alliance, the successful functioning of which is important for the security and prosperity of our citizens.

Congratulations also came from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki.

I attach great importance to the development of our bilateral relations, as well as our cooperation in multilateral formats, primarily within the framework of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, as well as in the context of the European integration of Montenegro, which Poland supports, Morawiecki wrote.

In his congratulatory message, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, expressed his full support for the integration efforts of Montenegro, stressing that the Czech Republic firmly believes in the positive development of the process of Montenegro's accession to the European Union.

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, reiterated Hungary's determination to continue working dedicatedly on deepening bilateral relations in the future.

The enlargement of the European Union is our priority, so Montenegro can also count on Hungary's firm support in the process of European integration in the future, reads the Orbán's message to Prime Minister Spajić.

The message of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Nikolay Denkov reads: "I take this opportunity to assure you that I will be happy to work together with you for the benefit of the citizens of two friendly countries. Over the years, Bulgaria and Montenegro have managed to shape a framework of deep dialogue and cooperation based on mutual appreciation and friendship, which we can further strengthen in all spheres of common interest".

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Robert Golob, also sent a congratulatory message, with the message that Slovenia continuously supports Montenegro in its democratic development as well as on the European path.

Our partnership is further strengthened by cooperation within the NATO alliance and joint efforts that contribute to regional security and cooperation, said Golob.

The Prime Minister of Malta, Robert Abela, congratulated the successful formation of the new Government, confident that the excellent relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen for the common good of all citizens.

I assure you of Malta's firm support for Montenegro on its path to joining the European Union. Malta sincerely hopes that your Government's clear commitment to achieving full membership will lead to rapid progress in the implementation of reforms that are necessary for Montenegro’s progress in that process.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland, Petteri Orpo, also emphasized the continuation of cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral relations along with best wishes in his congratulatory message.
