PM Krivokapić and Minister Milatović attend commissioning ceremony of new cable car in Kolašin
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović attended the commissioning ceremony of the new K7 cable car. The new K7 cable car now connects the two ski resorts, Kolašin 1600 and Kolašin 1450, thus enabling the use of 45 km of ski slopes.
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić emphasised the importance of infrastructural connectivity and noted that the two ski resorts are of capital importance for Kolašin, Mojkovac, Berane and other municipalities in the north, adding that they will be fully valorized.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the implementation of this project is an incentive for what Montenegro desperately needs at the moment, pointing to the need to improve transportation infrastructure.
This winter season, the ski center offers a ski track for beginners and children, more than 10 km of ski slopes have been built, parking spaces have been expanded by almost 250 places and new services have been introduced.
Minister Milatović said that time was used to achieve concrete results, noting that Kolašin will become a competitive regional ski center. We have solved many challenges, respecting the needs of development, but also the natural resources of Bjelasica, Milatović said.
In addition to the commissioning of the K7 cable car, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Government of Montenegro have planned to invest almost 20 million euros this year in projects here.
Executive Director of the Ski Resort of Montenegro Đuro Milošević said that the commissioning of the new cable car makes us competitive with ski centers in the region, while Director of the Public Works Administration Boro Lučić pointed out that the works were completed before the agreed deadline.
