PM Krivokapić and Minister Milatović visit construction site of Science and Technology Park
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović visited the construction site of the Science and Technology Park, which will contribute to faster economic development of Montenegro.
Prime Minister Krivokapić said that the Science and Technology Park will open its doors by the end of the year.
This is a corner that will gather young, promising, smart students, but also those who graduated from college, so that they can implement their ideas based on startups and other forms of transitional solutions in technology transfer from the University to the economy. What was missing in Montenegro, and especially in Podgorica, is one such facility that has been being prepared for a long time, said Prime Minister Krivokapić.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the contractor promised that everything will be done in a high-quality way, with the most modern equipment.
Minister Milatović said that the capital budget for 2022 envisages funds for the completion of the Science and Technology Park and the signing of the contract, i.e. the Annex to the contract between the Public Works Administration and the contractor.
Now we have all the preconditions for the completion of these works. Innovations are the focus of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Government of Montenegro. The allocation for innovations this year will amount to almost 8 million euros, which is the highest allocation ever, said Minister Milatović.
The Minister also announced that they will also focus on the work of the Innovation Fund this year.
The Innovation Fund will begin to provide support in the form of innovation vouchers in February. The Science and Technology Park will be a home to the Innovation Fund and all other institutions in Montenegro engaged in innovation work and, of course, to our innovation ecosystem, said Minister Milatović.
