PM Krivokapić: Montenegro will support BiH's European perspective
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić is paying an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the invitation of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Zoran Tegeltija. Prime Minister Krivokapić met with members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives Adil Osmanović, Nebojša Radmanović, Nikola Špirić, Asim Sarajlić, and Bariša Čolak.
PM Krivokapić informed his interlocutors about the current situation in Montenegro and said that he expects the representatives of all parties in Parliament to show political maturity and contribute to Montenegro's European path through their participation in the work of the Parliament.
"Political parties in Montenegro must show maturity to contribute to Montenegro's membership in the European Union. Primarily in the domain of strengthening the mechanisms for the fight against corruption and organized crime, i.e. strengthening the legislation covered by Chapters 23 and 24," said Prime Minister Krivokapić. In that context, he pointed out the huge importance that the Parliament has in that part and pointed out that the cooperation of all branches of government is a precondition for faster fulfillment of obligations in the negotiations.
The Prime Minister said that the most important thing was that there were no disputes between the two countries.
"Let the first regional visit be a testimony and an example of how we should change each other. We need to think about the future, and leave history to historians. We are committed to peace, stability and prosperity, and we can only achieve that if we completely turn to the economy," said PM Krivokapić.
Members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives expressed satisfaction because the first regional visit of Prime Minister Krivokapić to BiH only confirms the already good cooperation between the two countries. They pointed out that they see the visit as friendly and well-intentioned, and the good relations, as they emphasised, are confirmed by a large number of agreements that have been signed or are being prepared between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They also pointed out that BiH's movement towards the EU is important and expressed hope that BiH will become a candidate country as soon as possible.
"It is good that we cherish universal values and move forward together. BiH is learning from Montenegro when it comes to Euro-Atlantic integration, and we want to connect better," said members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament. They also recognised the determination and strength of the Government to follow the path of a civil, European and prosperous Montenegro.
Prime Minister Krivokapić said that the Government wants Bosnia and Herzegovina to gain candidate status as soon as possible. "Montenegro will be happy to share its experience to help you on your European path," the Prime Minister concluded.
