Prime Minister Milojko Spajić held a meeting with the presidents of the northern municipalities to exchange information on potential development projects, investment opportunities, and interest in possible investments.

In this context, Prime Minister Spajić briefed the attendees on his activities during the Economic Forum in Davos and the World Governments Summit in Dubai, aimed at promoting Montenegro's investment potential and highlighting the growing interest from investors.

At the same time, the Prime Minister announced that the Government has adopted the Economic Cooperation Agreement with the United Arab Emirates, which will soon be signed with that country. He reminded that the previous agreement had expired in 2022 and was not renewed by previous administrations.

This document serves as a framework for future cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and finance. Additionally, we will sign specific agreements, one of the first of which will focus on large-scale tourism development projects in both the southern and northern regions of the country, stated the Prime Minister.

He emphasized that major development projects and new investments have a positive effect on local entrepreneurs by creating opportunities for business expansion.

It is essential to propose ideas or projects that can drive significant progress in your municipalities. It is our collective responsibility to advocate for the best interests of both municipalities and the state, Spajić stated.

The presidents of the northern municipalities agreed that the meeting was an excellent opportunity to convey the message that the north has much to offer and is highly interested in attracting new investments.

They expressed unanimous support for welcoming leading global investors, such as Mohamed Alabbar, to Montenegro.

As they pointed out, only new investments and large-scale development projects can curb the depopulation of the northern region.

The north is abundant with potential in mountain tourism, energy, infrastructure, and agriculture, all of which must be utilized for the benefit of future generations, stated the local leaders.

It was concluded during the meeting that a major development project in any northern municipality would have a significant positive impact on the entire region.

The meeting was attended by the presidents of the municipalities of Plužine, Gusinje, Kolašin, Berane, Andrijevica, Rožaje, Petnjica, Plav, Mojkovac, Bijelo Polje, and Šavnik.
