Montenegro aims to be an example that economic progress can be achieved while fully respecting the rules. We want to create the conditions for new jobs, economic growth, and a better life for our citizens—taking full political and legal responsibility along the way, said Prime Minister Milojko Spajić during his participation in the ESG Adria Summit, held in Porto Montenegro, Tivat.

Speaking on the panel titled "Certainty, Confidence, Growth", focused on investment and legal certainty, Prime Minister Spajić emphasized the need for Europe to find ways to respond to the rapid economic development seen in other parts of the world.

In Montenegro, people think we're moving too fast, but the truth is—we're slow compared to what business needs. We must move faster, because only then can we succeed. We have to run to catch up with the most advanced. Speed—within the full framework of legal norms—right now, means economic survival. We must understand that. We need to eliminate business barriers, and remove everything that hinders growth and causes businesses to look elsewhere, said the Prime Minister.

He reaffirmed the Government's commitment to attracting credible, long-term investors.

We want investors who plan to stay, grow, and work in Montenegro—who will give opportunities to our entrepreneurs. We have many talented young people who have not yet been given the chance to thrive, said Spajić, responding to a question about his vision for Montenegro in ten years.

I see Montenegro in ten years as an EU member state, a leader in innovation, and a gateway for major global companies into the region. That is the vision guiding us—because we want to add value to the EU, not be a country that depends on the support of other member states, he added.

Over the course of three days, the Summit gathered around 700 participants, including high-level officials, government representatives, business leaders, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, media, and members of international organizations from the region and beyond.

More than 140 renowned speakers, representatives from over 300 companies, and over 60 young leaders from across the region shared best business practices and engaged in dialogue on sustainable development, innovation, and green transition.

The ESG Adria Summit, the largest regional event dedicated to sustainability, investment, innovation, and economic development, is taking place in Tivat (Porto Montenegro) from 9 to 11 April.
