We believe this momentum will be seized. Slovenia has recommended to EU member states to support Montenegro in closing four negotiation chapters soon, she stated.
Prime Minister Spajić informed Minister Fajon about the Government’s adoption of the “Barometer 26” document, aimed at uniting all segments of society around the European agenda. He noted that, beyond the ruling majority, he expects opposition support for the document.
The two officials agreed on the importance of strengthening economic ties between Slovenia and Montenegro, as well as improving air connectivity between the two countries.
Montenegro enjoys special relations with Slovenia, and our ties have never been better. However, we aim to further enhance our economic cooperation, said Prime Minister Spajić.
Minister Fajon confirmed the interest of Slovenian companies in investing in Montenegro.
Prime Minister Spajić and Minister Fajon exchanged insights on public sector salary reform. The Slovenian Foreign Minister described the process as long and challenging for Slovenia, adding that, after two years of negotiations, they are now ready to implement the reform.
Minister Fajon also inquired about the implementation of the Europe Now 2 programme. Prime Minister Spajić emphasized that the programme has stabilized public finances, improved citizens’ living standards, and reduced the grey economy.
