Prime Minister Spajić spoke with representatives of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Montenegro: Continuation of the highway next year
Dynamic infrastructural development is one of the main goals of the Government and an important prerequisite for stepping up of economic activities, it was said at the meeting of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić with representatives of foreign investors in Montenegro.
Prime Minister Spajić informed the interlocutors about plans for the development of traffic and railway infrastructure and, in that context, announced the start of work on the second section of the highway during the next year.
We believe in economic changes and the creation of new value for our citizens. To that end, it is necessary to work uncompromisingly on the elimination of the informal economy and business barriers, said the Prime Minister.
Representatives of the Foreign Investors’ Council introduced the Prime Minister to the Strategy for the period 2024-2026 and expressed their belief that Montenegro can be the most competitive country for investments in the region.
We are encouraged by the Government's readiness to take a more effective stance in terms of the recognized challenges faced by foreign investors. We believe that special attention will be focused on careful decision-making that can influence the entire economy, with special emphasis on tax policy and further alignment of the legal framework with European standards, said Tamas Kamarasi, President of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Montenegro and president of the CKB Board of Directors.
At the meeting, it was also assessed that the strengthening of the infrastructure, digitalization of the databases and support for small and medium-sized enterprises are important for the continuation of the economic development of Montenegro.
In order to implement the defined goals as efficiently as possible, the readiness to organize regular meetings between representatives of the Government and the Foreign Investors’ Council in Montenegro has been expressed.
On behalf of the Foreign Investors’ Council, the meeting was also attended by: Arijana Nikolić Vučinić, Executive Director of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Montenegro and Remon Zakaria, member of the Board of Directors and Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in Montenegro.
