Monteput has announced a public call for the development of the conceptual design for the fast traffic route Smokovac – Tuzi – Božaj, spanning 23 km in length.

The purpose of preparing this technical documentation is to thoroughly examine various alternatives and determine the best corridor route from the Smokovac interchange to the broader area of the Božaj border crossing. The goal is to ensure a comprehensive analysis through this process, encompassing all relevant aspects of the project, including construction, technical, economic, functional, technological, spatial, and environmental factors.

The conceptual design should be the outcome of a gradual process that ensures an objective assessment of all project aspects. It is necessary to define the route, lay the foundations for the preparation of subsequent phases of project documentation, and establish conditions for the construction of this roadway.

This fast traffic route aims to improve the transportation link between Podgorica and Tuzi, as well as Montenegro's connectivity with Albania. Additionally, it will facilitate the connection of this part of Montenegro with the Bar-Boljare highway, significantly enhancing regional connectivity, economic cooperation, and development.

This conceptual design will serve as a basis for determining a more precise route position, making the final decision on the rank and profile of the roadway, and defining the corridor in the Proposal of the Spatial Plan of Montenegro by 2040.

Monteput's focus this year is on preparing project documentation. In this context, ongoing public calls and tender procedures for the development of conceptual projects and conceptual designs for multiple sections are fundamental for the future construction of approximately 260 km of highways and about 220 km of fast traffic routes.
