Response of Bureau for Operational Coordination: Do not raise tensions with incorrect information

In order to objectively and truthfully inform the public regarding the article published today in the daily Pobjeda under the title "Risk assessment will be given by Cobras and BIA", we inform you the following:

The allegations in the article that the joint activities of the security services of Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of the enthronement of Metropolitan Joanikije are in progress, as well as that assistance was requested on that occasion, are incorrect.

If the arrival of protected persons from the Republic of Serbia is planned, our intelligence and security sector will independently and in cooperation with the security services of the Republic of Serbia ensure safety of protected persons in Montenegro, which includes joint activities with the mentioned security services of the Republic of Serbia, including special task force "Cobras" whose one of the tasks is the assessment, planning and implementation of security tasks in the field of protection of certain persons and facilities of the Republic of Serbia. It is a common practice when protected persons from the Republic of Serbia are visiting our country.

We appeal to the media not to mislead the citizens and raise tensions with incorrect information, but to contribute to the strengthening of tolerance and the strengthening of interethnic and interfaith harmony in Montenegro through their professional activities.
