Montenegro and Croatia will resolve all outstanding issues in a spirit of friendship and constructive dialogue while leveraging opportunities to deepen economic cooperation, according to the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and President of Croatia Zoran Milanović in Podgorica.

This is a highly significant visit for Montenegro and serves as the best indication of our countries' commitment to strengthening mutual relations and addressing all outstanding matters in a friendly manner, said Prime Minister Spajić.

The Montenegrin Prime Minister briefed President Milanović on Montenegro’s economic progress and achievements, as well as the country’s ongoing efforts in European integration.

Croatia, as our close neighbour and a member of the European Union, is an important partner on our European path. I am grateful for the words of support and confident that Montenegro’s process of closing EU negotiation chapters will proceed as planned, Spajić emphasized.

Both leaders expressed confidence that intensifying bilateral discussions on open issues will lead to mutually beneficial outcomes.

President Milanović agreed that the two countries, as well as the entire region, should foster close and cooperative relations.

I hope we will remove barriers in our relations and that entry restrictions to our country will soon be lifted, the Croatian President stated.

Spajić and Milanović concluded that while economic cooperation between the two nations is already strong and diverse, there is still room for further enhancement and expansion.
