Ukraine Defence Contact Group holds its second meeting
US Secretary of Defence Lloyd J. Austin III hosted the second meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, attended by defence ministers and chiefs of staff from 44 countries.
The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on the current situation in Ukraine, review their urgent needs in weapons and equipment, as well as agree on coordinating necessary aid.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Raško Konjević pointed out that the Government of Montenegro strongly condemns Russia's aggression against a sovereign country and reiterated that we stand firmly with the people of Ukraine. The participants in the meeting were informed that Montenegro has already sent humanitarian, financial and military assistance. DPM Konjević emphasised that the next donation to the Army and the people of Ukraine can be expected soon.
It was concluded that the situation in Ukraine is difficult, and in that sense it is necessary to work on coordinating aid to Ukraine, which not only defends its territory from the aggression of the Russian Federation, but also the fundamental values on which democratic Europe rests.
