Published on: Apr 30, 2015 6:00 AM Author: Government of Montenegro

On initiative of the Vice-President of the Government and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations, Ph.D. Igor Lukšić, the Fourth Session of the Bureau for Operational Coordination and harmonization of the work of the bodies constituting the security and intelligence sector was held. The session was chaired by the Vice President of the Government and the Bureau Coordinator, Duško Marković.
The subject on the agenda was an unauthorized release in public the official documents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations and the NATO Membership Council, and in that regard, their impact on the work of state authorities in the context of current integration processes.

It was estimated that the aforementioned activities were intended to discredit the state institutions and official policy, primarily from the aspect of Montenegro’s efforts to receive invitation for membership in NATO by the end of 2015.

In that sense, the Bureau for Operational Coordination concluded that the competent state authorities, in accordance with their legal authorizations, should comprehensively intensify implementation of already launched activities aimed at identifying the persons responsible for releasing in public the official documents, and accordingly, establishing the existence of elements for criminal and any other type of responsibility.

The Bureau, within its scope of work, will, in the forthcoming period, keep monitoring the activities undertaken by the competent institutions aimed at throwing light on the aforementioned event, thereby giving full support and actively contributing to the success of the NATO integration process.

The session of the Bureau, upon invitation, was also attended by the Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations, Ph.D. Igor Lukšić, as well as the Supreme State Prosecutor, Ivica Stanković.
