Abazović and ministers meet with American companies: Montenegro has the opportunity to become a business hub for the entire Western Balkans

Prime Minister and Coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dritan Abazović hosted representatives of the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA) at Villa Gorica.

In attendance were the U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, Judy Rising Reinke, as well as representatives from American companies, including Northrop, Oshkosh, Visa, Pfizer, Global, Phillip Morris International, S2, Skydio, and others.

During his introductory address, Prime Minister Abazović expressed his desire to see a greater presence of American companies in Montenegro, emphasizing that the country has the potential to become a business hub for the entire Western Balkans, particularly in the field of green and sustainable economy.

The enhancement of the Port of Bar will significantly contribute to the rapid development of Montenegro, and the government will actively work towards this goal. Combined with motorway and airports, this will complete the story of enhancing the key infrastructure in Montenegro, emphasized the Prime Minister.

Regarding the substantial opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, Prime Minister Abazović stated that the government will make efforts to promote Montenegro to American tourists, as the country remains a yet-to-be-discovered destination for them.

We are very grateful to the U.S. government for the assistance provided in the field of cybersecurity in the previous period. We see great potential for cooperation with American companies, especially in the area of enhancing cybersecurity over the next ten years, highlighted Abazović during his address.

Following the initial speeches, a series of separate meetings took place between representatives of American companies and Montenegrin ministers, including Vladimir Joković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management; Goran Đurović, Minister of Economic Development and Tourism; Filip Adžić, Minister of the Interior; Ana Novaković Đurović, Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning, and Urbanism; Dragoslav Šćekić, Minister of Health; Biljana Šćepanović, Minister of Science and Technological Development; and Brigadier General Zoran Lazarević, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro.
