Abazović at the UN Security Council
The idea of the United Nations is for the citizens and states of the world to unite, not divide, emphasized Prime Minister Dritan Abazović during his speech at the high-level briefing of the UN Security Council on the maintenance of peace and security in Ukraine.
Abazović stated that the UN was born after the greatest social catastrophe in history, World War II, and added that we should not wait for a new catastrophe to rekindle such a noble idea.
Let's return to the original idea and reform as soon as possible, Abazović stressed, calling for strong support for a fundamental reform of the UN with a focus on a different configuration of the Security Council.
In the context of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the Prime Minister pointed out that violence as a means to achieve political goals is unacceptable in the 21st century.
Montenegro is here to call for peace and extend a hand to all countries of the world in promoting universal values and protecting human rights and freedoms, Abazović emphasized.
