Prime Minister Dritan Abazović received the newly appointed British Ambassador to Montenegro, Dawn McKen, today.

The Prime Minister emphasised the very good relations between Montenegro and the United Kingdom and highlighted the "exceptional level of cooperation with the British Embassy in Podgorica." He extended his well wishes for Ambassador McKen's successful tenure and expressed confidence that the collaboration between the British Embassy and the Government would continue at a high level.

The United Kingdom has made a significant contribution to the reform processes in Montenegro, particularly in the fight against corruption and organised crime. The results we have achieved, and of which we are proud, are a joint effort, said the Prime Minister.

Ambassador McKen expressed her satisfaction with the reception. She expressed confidence that the United Kingdom would continue to support Montenegro's developmental perspective based on shared values, especially within the framework of NATO cooperation.

During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on current developments in the country and the region. They agreed that the development and improved living standards of citizens should be at the top of the agenda for both the current and future governments.

The meeting also assessed that there is room for strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of financial investigations, cybersecurity, the fight against disinformation, and attracting foreign direct investment.
