Abazović takes part in meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs
Prime Minister and Coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dritan Abazović participated in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Foreign Affairs Ministers at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
Prime Minister Abazović reaffirmed Montenegro's strong support for Ukraine, particularly stressing our commitment to preserving the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of this country. In the context of Russian aggression, Abazović also referred to the importance of preserving stability and security in the wider area of the Western Balkans, with special emphasis on intensifying integration processes.
The Prime Minister noted that Montenegro is strongly committed to the implementation of allied policies with the aim of protecting the Euro-Atlantic area.
In a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission, Allied foreign ministers reaffirmed their strong support for Ukraine. Allied ministers and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also discussed the importance of Ukraine’s continuing reforms.
This was the first meeting attended by Finland as a full member of NATO, following their accession earlier in the day.
The first day of the ministerial meeting began with a session of the NATO-Ukraine Commission, which was also attended by The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, during which the key topic was The Russian aggression against Ukraine and the implications of the conflict for allied security.
