Abazović visits premises of Sector for the Fight against Crime: You are required to work professionally and in the interest of the state of Montenegro
Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and Assistant Director of the Police Directorate Dejan Knežević visited the premises of the Sector for the Fight against Crime and met with the heads of several departments and employees in that sector.
Speaking about the importance of the Sector for the Fight against Crime, DPM Abazović thanked for the contribution that the civil servants in this Sector give in the fight against organized crime, emphasising the sacrifice they make every day solving complex cases in the field of organized crime.
Expressing the desire to change the perception of the public towards the Police Directorate, Abazović stated that the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister would support all activities in the fight against organized crime and stressed that he expects even better results.
"You are only required to work professionally and in the interest of the state of Montenegro. You have no obligation to any other structures. The assistant directors of the Police Administration are free to choose their teams and organize the work as they think they should, but also to bear responsibility for the results they deliver," said the Deputy Prime Minister at the meeting.
Noting that after the health workers, this sector of public administration suffers the greatest pressure, Abazović emphasised that the results of the work of this Sector are compatible with the progress in the negotiation process with the EU concerning Chapters 23 and 24.
"We need to change the European Commission's reports, which have been the same for years in terms of the rule of law and the fight against organized crime and corruption. If we want to ensure a better future for our country, we must deliver results in the fight against organized crime and corruption. Montenegro should be in the alliance of democratic countries," Abazović concluded.
