Deputy Prime Minister Bečić addresses ESG Summit closing
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić addressed the closing of the ESG Summit in Tivat, congratulating the organizers on the excellent arrangements, substantive programme, and messages conveyed over the past days.
From the Summit, messages of unity, collaboration, bridging differences, economic progress, sustainable development, and green transition were sent—a vision of the future. He expressed satisfaction that such messages originated from Montenegro, a country characterized by its amalgamation of wonderful diversities, positive spirit, and traditional hospitality.
Bečić emphasised the necessity of continuing an unprecedented, courageous, and uncompromising fight against organised crime and corruption, a battle he takes particular pride in as the Deputy Prime Minister for Security and coordinator of the intelligence-security sector. He stressed that this is a collective effort of independent and resolute Montenegrin institutions and international partners, emphasising that attempts to create tensions as a reflection of insecurity and instability will fail, as institutions will continue to work diligently, responsibly, and decisively in accordance with the Constitution and laws.
Bečić underscored the significance of building strong institutions and the considerable progress Montenegro has made in this regard, highlighting it as key to citizens' legal security, attracting investments, economic development, and advancing on the European path. He expressed confidence that obtaining the IBAR in June and closing a significant number of chapters by the end of the year will mark the culmination of the most successful negotiating year and signal the finalization of the process. Bečić concluded by stating that Montenegro, as the 28th member of the European Union in 2028, will serve as a stabilizing force and a bridge of cooperation, reiterating gratitude for the respect and support received and emphasising the continuation of the journey together.
