ESG Adria Summit kicks off in Tivat

On Wednesday, 9 April, the ESG Adria Summit – the largest regional event dedicated to sustainability, investment, innovation, and economic development – will begin in Porto Montenegro, Tivat.
Over the course of three days, the summit will bring together more than 700 participants, including high-ranking officials, government representatives, business leaders, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and members of international organizations from the region and around the world. More than 140 globally recognized speakers, representatives from over 300 companies, and more than 60 young leaders from the region will have the opportunity to present best business practices and engage in discussions on sustainable development, innovation, and the green transition.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj stated that Montenegro is proud to host this dialogue, emphasizing that “more than ever before, we believe sustainability is not just a concept – it is our reality, our responsibility, and our path forward.”
He added that ESG is not a wish list, but an operational policy, noting that the Government has made significant strides in strengthening the institutional and economic framework in recent years.
When we launched the ESG Adria Summit three years ago, our goal was to create a space for serious, action-oriented dialogue on the future of the region. Today, judging by the number of participants, the depth of the topics, and the quality of the dialogue, I believe it’s clear that we’ve created something far beyond a traditional conference format, said Biljana Braithwaite, CEO and Founding Partner at Sustineri Partners and the event organizer.
Montenegro is hosting the ESG Adria Summit for the third consecutive year. According to Braithwaite, this year’s agenda will cover a wide array of topics, ranging from the geopolitical landscape and its impact on the region, to legal certainty as a key driver of economic prosperity and foreign investment, the energy transition, artificial intelligence and the future of work, sustainable tourism, and the role of youth in regional transformation.
As a leading destination on the Adriatic, our goal is to lead in ESG integration. Through this conference, we aim to bring together our partners and clients to share knowledge and experiences and further advance our approach to sustainable business. ESG is no longer just the future – it is the present and our shared responsibility. Our role is to lead in responsible resource management and the preservation of our natural and social environment, said Predrag Leković, Director of Government Affairs at Porto Montenegro.
Universal Capital Bank is proud to support the ESG Adria Summit, as we believe sustainability, responsible business, and the green transition are key to the future of the economy. As a financial institution, we are aware of our role in shaping a sustainable society and recognize our responsibility to be part of that change. Furthermore, Montenegro’s role as host sends a strong message to investors about its commitment to sustainable development, creating new opportunities for market growth, investment attraction, and economic strengthening, stated Miloš Pavlović, President of the Management Board at Universal Capital Bank, the Summit’s platinum partner.
The ESG Adria Summit will take place from 9 to 11 April in Tivat, and is organized by Sustineri Partners and Porto Montenegro, in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and under the auspices of the President of Montenegro.
