Europe Now Programme improves tax compliance
Today's session of the Coordination Body for Monitoring the Implementation of the Europe Now Programme assessed that the adopted reforms yielded results, and that in addition to increased salaries, they had an impact on improving tax compliance.
Europe now Programme achieved a common goal, which is to improve the quality of life of citizens. I am pleased to state that the success of the programme has been recorded by all state bodies and strategic partners, the Montenegrin Employers Federation, two representative unions and the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro. It is also very important that we have numerous indicators that unequivocally indicate improved tax compliance, said Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović, who chaired the session.
Representatives of the Revenue and Customs Administration presented reports on the current implementation of the programme, according to which a significant increase in the submitted IOPPD forms (Report on calculated and paid taxes and contributions) was recorded. This is a clear indicator of improved tax compliance.
The Directorate for Inspection Affairs emphasised that labour inspectors carry out on-site inspections every day.
The session noted that excellent interdepartmental cooperation significantly contributes to the implementation of the Europe Now Programme, which exceeds all expectations.
