Implementation of Europe Now Programme exceeds expectations
The Coordination Body for Monitoring the Europe Now Programme held its fourth session today. The session noted that the implementation of the Europe Now Programme is proceeding according to plan, based on the data obtained after the payment of salaries for January 2022.
Based on the comprehensive report prepared by the Revenue and Customs Administration, an increased number of submitted IOPPD forms (Report on calculated and paid taxes and contributions) is evident. During February 123,085 forms were submitted, related to the period 2011-2022. Earlier, this number of forms used to be submitted during a period of more than 6 months.
As the legal framework was changed in December, which obliges all businesses to regularly submit IOPPD forms, the Coordination Body pointed out that this additionally protects the rights of employees to pension and disability insurance.
The Revenue and Customs Administration pointed out that thanks to this decision, tax discipline was increased, and thus more relevant data on the actual amount of the tax debt was obtained, which was not previously recorded, although it existed.
When it comes to the collection of budget revenues, the data of the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare support the fact that the collection of revenues for January-February of the current year exceeds expectations by 7%, while compared to the same period it is higher by almost 20%.
We remind you that according to Monstat data, the average net salary for January amounted to € 686, which is € 150 or 27.7% more than in December 2021. If we keep in mind that consumer prices in January 2022 compared to December 2021 recorded an increase of 1.3%, it follows that real wages for the same period recorded an increase of 26.1%.
In order to continue this positive trend, the Coordination Body has scheduled its fifth session for mid-March.
