Ibrahimović with Ambassador Lugon-Moulin: Montenegro and Switzerland committed to strengthening economic cooperation
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović, met today in Podgorica with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Montenegro, on a non-resident basis, AnneLugon-Moulin.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the friendly relations between Montenegro and Switzerland and wished the Ambassador a successful mandate, with the conviction that the two countries will continue to further enhance cooperation in numerous areas of mutual interest. He stated that the opening of the diplomatic and consular representation of Montenegro in Bern will significantly contribute to this.
He recalled the activities undertaken by Montenegro in the context of European integration, assessing that the progress achieved in the reform process influences the overall development and prosperity of our country. Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the significant potential for the continuation of dynamic cooperation in the economic sphere, considering that Switzerland is one of the leading foreign investors in Montenegro.
Ambassador Lugon-Moulin stated that the strengthening of economic ties represents a clear reflection of the good bilateral relations between the two countries. She affirmed that Switzerland will continue to provide strong support for Montenegro's European aspirations, emphasizing the importance of the EU enlargement process, not only for Montenegro but also for the stability and prosperity of the region and Europe.
The meeting also addressed current regional and global challenges, as well as ways to intensify cooperation on the multilateral level.
