Marović meets EBRD Head of Montenegro Remon Zakaria
Montenegro expects significant support from the European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in financing further construction of the Bar-Boljare motorway, for which a project application is being developed through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Jovana Marović at a meeting with EBRD Head of Montenegro Remon Zakaria.
She explained that the project application is being prepared by the Ministry of Capital Investments, and its goal is to prepare the main project and tender documentation for the Mateševo-Andrijevica and Smokovac-Farmaci road sections.
Marović highlighted the excellent cooperation with the EBRD through the Western Balkans Investment Framework, through which the EBRD finances energy, transport and digital infrastructure projects in Montenegro.
Zakaria said that the EBRD is ready to support Montenegro in significant challenges such as solid waste management and prioritisation of road infrastructure construction.
He added that the EBRD remains committed to providing support for projects included in the green agenda, small and medium-sized enterprises and better connectivity between Montenegro and the region, both in terms of transport and energy.
