Montenegro committed to peace and dialogue, will continue to support Ukraine

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović attended the opening of the General Debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, took part in a meeting of the Group of Friends of Accountability following the aggression against Ukraine, and met with Andorra’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Imma Tor Faus, as well as EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajčák.

Ibrahimović stated that Montenegro will continue to support Ukraine in its fight to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity, while also advocating for accountability for all crimes committed since the start of Russia’s aggression.

In his meeting with Lajčák, they discussed issues of regional stability and European integration, with particular emphasis on the importance of a clear European perspective for the Western Balkan countries. Minister Ibrahimović stressed that Montenegro’s progress, along with clear messages from Brussels that enlargement is a priority, serves as additional encouragement for all candidate countries.

On the second day in New York, Minister Ibrahimović signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation with Andorra's Minister of Foreign Affairs Imma Tor Faus. During their talks, it was noted that high-level meetings and addressing issues of mutual interest contribute to the further development of economic cooperation and the overall strengthening of relations.
