Montenegro is a success story that will give strong impetus to EU enlargement policy

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Nikos Dendias. The meeting assessed that Montenegro has the full support of Greece in the EU accession process, and our bilateral relations can serve as a role model of partnership in the region when it comes to security issues, regional integration, Euro-Atlantic integration and economic cooperation.

PM Abazović thanked Greece for its assistance in Montenegro's EU accession process. He pointed out that the increased political and economic presence of the EU and NATO must be felt in the Western Balkans in order to maintain the Euro-Atlantic course, because, as he pointed out, investing in the stability and prosperity of this region means investing in the prosperity of the whole of Europe.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias congratulated Montenegro on the fifth anniversary of NATO membership, and pointed out that the Western Balkans must be integrated into the European Union, with Montenegro as the leader in the accession process. Montenegro is a beautiful country with a certain European perspective, whose success story will give a strong impetus to the European Union's enlargement policy, said Dendias.

The two officials exchanged views on cooperation in areas of mutual interest and agreed to cooperate more closely in the economic field, with an emphasis on energy and attracting credible foreign investors.

Everyone who wants to do business expects that the institutions function on the basis of the rule of law, because that is the only way to build a predictable and stable business environment, the Prime Minister concluded.

The meeting assessed that the announced meeting between the Prime Minister of Montenegro and Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be a good opportunity to discuss specific projects and further cooperation between the two countries.
