Monteput signs contracts for three major infrastructure projects
Monteput has signed contracts for the development of conceptual designs for three expressways. These projects aim to precisely define routes and technical solutions, representing a significant step in planning a modern and efficient transportation system, with a focus on connecting regions within Montenegro and neighbouring countries.
The contracts include the following:
1. Expressway Crnča – Pljevlja – Border with Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Awarded to the Podgorica-based consortium Geotechnics Project & Consulting.
- Contract value: €157,000 (excluding VAT).
- Completion timeline: five months.
- This project involves a 93 km route, including detailed technical solutions for bridges, tunnels, and other key elements, considering technical, environmental, and economic aspects. The expressway will improve connectivity between Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja, as well as Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
2. Highway section Andrijevica – Čakor
- Awarded to Via Project.
- Contract value: €83,000 (excluding VAT).
- Completion timeline: four months.
- This project will define the route connecting Montenegro and Kosovo, as outlined in Montenegro’s Spatial Plan. The conceptual design will establish the optimal route, enabling the preparation of further project documentation and the eventual construction of this critical highway.
3. Expressway Danilovgrad – Nikšić
- Awarded to the Podgorica-based consortium Geotechnics Project & Consulting.
- Contract value: €107,000 (excluding VAT).
- Completion timeline: five months.
- Covering a 31 km route, this expressway will enhance connectivity between the cities of Danilovgrad and Nikšić. It will also link to major corridors such as the Bar – Boljare Highway and the Adriatic-Ionian Highway, contributing to the development of Montenegro’s transportation network.
Monteput adopted an ambitious Work Plan earlier this year, which is now being realized through these and previous contracts. These projects are part of a strategic plan to modernize Montenegro’s transportation infrastructure, aligned with the Government’s development goals.
The preparation of conceptual designs is a crucial step in drafting project documentation for 18 sections of expressways and highways, part of five development corridors defined by the Government. These corridors include approximately 260 kilometers of highways and 220 kilometers of expressways. The construction of these planned roadways will significantly reduce travel time, enhance safety, and improve travel comfort across Montenegro.
