PM Abazović meets Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Branimir Jukić
Montenegro openly supports the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, respecting its wholeness and territorial integrity, convinced that a stable and safe region is a prerequisite for the prosperity of all countries in it, and good neighbourly relations and EU integration are key to economic and infrastructural development, said Prime Minister Dritan Abazović at a meeting with H.E. Branimir Jukić, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Montenegro.
Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Branimir Jukić said that the relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect and can serve as an example to every country in the Western Balkans.
BiH sincerely supports Montenegro's membership in the EU, both for the sake of Montenegro, and for the sake of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and the European Union, said Ambassador Jukić.
Prime Minister Abazović expressed his full respect for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, adding that he supports the initiative to declare 11 July as the day of remembrance for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, as provided for in Article 5 of the Resolution.
Discussing the current political situation in the country, Prime Minister Abazović emphasised the importance of a wider political consensus in the context of unblocking the judiciary and electoral reform as important segments of European integration.
Prime Minister Abazović and Ambassador Jukić agreed that the relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are friendly, strengthened by common foreign policy priorities. Furthermore, the two officials exchanged opinions on the tourist season, political opportunities in the two countries and the region, agreeing that it is in the common interest of both countries to join the EU.
